Tras un a\u00f1o de desarrollo y ensayo de materiales y procesos, el primer prototipo ha sido desarrollado gracias a la tecnolog\u00eda de LM Wind Power y al talento espa\u00f1ol en su f\u00e1brica ubicada en Ponferrada. Este hito, catalogado como un gran desaf\u00edo para la industria y respaldado por el consorcio ZEBRA, hoy supone un importante avance para el sector e\u00f3lico hacia la econom\u00eda circular.<\/p>\n<p>La pala de 62 metros est\u00e1 compuesta de resina l\u00edquida termopl\u00e1stica desarrollada por Arkema, que se adapta perfectamente para la fabricaci\u00f3n de grandes estructuras. Combinada con la fibra de vidrio de Owners Corning produce un material compuesto de m\u00e1xima fiabilidad con un beneficio \u00fanico: su reciclabilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, este material compuesto puede ser reciclado mediante un proceso qu\u00edmico por el cual se despolimeriza la resina, se separa de la fibra y se procede a la extracci\u00f3n de ambos materiales para reutilizarlos, y as\u00ed cerrar el c\u00edrculo. Este m\u00e9todo se ensaya sobre todo el material compuesto, incluyendo el excedente generado durante la fabricaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEs un orgullo para el equipo de Ponferrada participar en el desarrollo de las palas del futuro y contribuir a que el sector e\u00f3lico sea a\u00fan m\u00e1s sostenible. Este es un proyecto clave para LM Wind Power, ya que contribuye a nuestro objetivo de fabricar palas sin residuos en 2030, pero tambi\u00e9n lo es para el sector en general porque aborda uno de sus retos clave. A d\u00eda de hoy, en torno a un 85-90% de los aerogeneradores son reciclables y conseguir que las palas tambi\u00e9n lo sean es un paso clave para cerrar el c\u00edrculo\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Jorge L\u00f3pez Caloto, Director de la Planta de Ponferrada en LM Wind Power.<\/p>\n<p>LM Wind Power comenzar\u00e1 ahora la campa\u00f1a de validaci\u00f3n en su centro de ensayos de Dinamarca, para comprobar la respuesta del material compuesto y demostrar su viabilidad a gran escala en la fabricaci\u00f3n de la nueva generaci\u00f3n de palas. Una vez realizados estos ensayos, se validar\u00e1n los m\u00e9todos de reciclaje.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCon este proyecto estamos contribuyendo a dos grandes retos del sector. Por un lado, seguimos avanzando en nuestra visi\u00f3n de palas libres de excedentes mediante la prevenci\u00f3n y el reciclaje del sobrante de materiales durante la fabricaci\u00f3n. Por el otro, estamos llevando el reciclaje de palas al siguiente nivel pues el compuesto termopl\u00e1stico reciclado tiene un gran valor y puede ser utilizado en otras industrias como material compuesto, pero tambi\u00e9n despolimerizado y reutilizado en la fabricaci\u00f3n de nuevas palas\u201d, explica John Korsgaard, Director de Ingenier\u00eda en LM Wind Power.<\/p>\n<p>Las siguientes fases en este proceso son el reciclaje del excedente de fabricaci\u00f3n, el desmontaje y reciclado de la primera pala, y el an\u00e1lisis de los resultados. Para el final del proyecto, en 2023, el consorcio ZEBRA habr\u00e1 conseguido su objetivo de contribuir al avance del sector hacia una econom\u00eda circular de forma sostenible y siguiendo principios de ecodise\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proyecto ZEBRA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lanzado en septiembre de 2020, el proyecto ZEBRA (en ingl\u00e9s, Zero wastE Blade ReseArch) es un consorcio que re\u00fane a diferentes actores del sector incluyendo a IRT Jules Verne, Arkema, CANOE, Engie, LM Wind Power, Owens Corning y SUEZ.
