In 2024, global installed wind power capacity reached 1,132.83 GW, of which 1,053.4 GW came from onshore installations and 79.43 GW from offshore. Over the course of the year, 113.23 GW of new capacity were added: 108.05 GW from onshore projects and 5.18 GW from offshore wind. This was the highest year ever for onshore wind installations, surpassing the 105.8 GW recorded in 2023. By the end of last year, 80 countries had more than 100 MW of installed wind capacity. For offshore wind, 2024 ranked as the third-best year in terms of new capacity installed.
