Wind energy in the world

Installed wind power in the world grew in 2022 to 906 GW, according to data from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). The five main markets in the world (China, US, Germany, India and Spain) represent 71% of the world installations carried out in 2022, with 77.6% of new wind capacity installed and connected in the world in 2022. This figure was 3.7% less than in 2021, because the two largest markets in the world (China and the US) have jointly lost 5% market share compared to 2021 (the second year in a row that they have lost market share).
